This week my rock climbing friends, Mark and Sue, tied the knot. It has been fun watching them meet, become friends, and grow into a strong, loving couple.
One of my fourth grade students thanked me for teaching him how to tie his shoes last week. The thank you means a lot to me.
As I’m meeting my new students this year, I am finding fun personalities. I have a third grader who is a storyteller. He’s done everything and been everywhere. The first week of class he was a full fledged sheriff with a badge. This week he tops everyone else’s story. If you broke a finger, well that’s nothing because he once broke every bone in his legs. I didn’t believe him when he told us that he saw someone get hit by a train, and then I heard about it on the news that evening. But I’m still not sure that I believe he was there when it happened…
I needed to make copies from the 2006-2007 Metro Community College Nebraska catalog, but I couldn’t find it online. I called up the school and was transferred to Susan Jowdy. She was awesome. By that afternoon, she had found the catalog, copied all the pages I needed and emailed them to me.
Superman backpacks featuring a six pack, enough said.
Metal lunch boxes, remember those? Hello Kitty is bringing them back with matching backpacks.
19/20 on my first chemistry “pop quiz.”
One of my students learned how to speak Chinese while living in China. When she moved back to the United States, she lost opportunities to practice speaking Chinese on a regular basis…until now. We have another student in class who speaks Chinese. Yay!
Two friends have finally met their babies this week. Love the newborn pics on Facebook.
