You know those places that you drive by all the time thinking, I should stop in there? Well, it’s time to pull over, find a parking space and check them out. It’s very likely you have been missing out on something good.
Bee Creative Ceramics is one of those places for me. I have been passing it by on my way to work, the climbing gym, the park, the airport, always thinking I should stop in there sometime. A couple of weeks ago I finally went to Bee Creative Ceramics with my friend. We brought lunch and snacks for the afternoon and stayed for at least four hours painting, talking, munching, and laughing.
I spent a lot of time perusing the shelves trying to decide what I would paint. There are seasonal items, vases, cups, figurines, containers, statues, and more to choose from. The prices are reasonable as well. Many places charge a lot for the piece that you paint and an extra fee for firing. Bee Creative Ceramics is different. The price on the item is an all-inclusive price. It covers paint, painting tools, and firing.
My friend already had finished projects waiting for her at the shop. She had been painting gifts for her sister’s wedding. She has put together a spoon rest, salt and pepper shakers, a vase, and a few more matching items. To change things up, she decided to paint a Christmas Tree decoration that afternoon.
Ultimately, I chose a vase for my project. It was only $12, plus tax. Being a simple vase, without embellishments, I was able to paint it all white and add blue squiggles to the sides. I was a little sad to leave it at the shop to wait for it to be fired, but it only took a few days before it was ready.
When I stopped in to pick up my vase, I ended up staying and painting something new. The shop is laid back and everyone is friendly and helpful. It’s a nice place to hang out and concentrate on creativity.
