Weekend Highlights: Canon Photography Experience & Martha’s Bundt Cake Recipe

Canon Photography Experience

Canon Event

My experience with macro photography has been limited to my favorite little flower button on point-and-shoot cameras. Over the weekend, however, I had an opportunity to move beyond the flower button. I went to the Canon photography event at the Springs Preserve where I attended a macro photography class. Then, I borrowed a camera and a lens. Off I went around the gardens to take photos of flowers, plants and bees. Here’s what I caught.

Martha’s Bundt Cake Recipe

I often find myself watching Martha Bakes on Create TV. A few weekends ago Martha made a Devils Bundt Cake that looked simple enough that I could make it. On Sunday, I attempted to make the cake. Of course, I forgot to mix the sour cream in with the chocolate powder and had to dump everything back into the mixer after putting it into the bundt pan. I wish it was standard for ingredients to be typed in a bold font in the recipe instructions. I almost always miss at least one ingredient because I don’t see it in the instructions. Regardless, the texture is probably not quite right because of my mistake, but the super chocolatey goodness makes up for it.
