For about the last three months, I have been learning how hard it is to keep count up to 8ish or 10ish. I thought I was solid with my numbers up to ten, but preparing for a group choreographed anti-gravity yoga performance proved me wrong.
A few of us volunteered to do an anti-gravity performance for the Shine After Dark Student Showcase at Shine Alternative Fitness in Las Vegas. We were a lovely mix of varying talents, experiences, friendly smiles, positive energy, and lots of motivation. Our coach, Kelly Millaudon, choreographed a beautiful performance to the music The Circus Sets Up from the movie Water for Elephants. It was so exciting that she had created this complicated, multifaceted performance for us. She presented us with a dazzling challenge that coaxed all of us out of our comfort zones.
But it wasn’t easy. I went from total excitement about learning the choreography, to frustration from not getting the choreography (1, 2, 3…8ish), then confidence from lots of practice, and satisfaction when it all clicked. Finally, we performed!
